MORTALIVE PROJECT
THE CONCEPT OF SAVING A GLACIER
 HOVER OVER THE IMAGES
The glaciers of the world are melting rapidly. So is the Morteratsch-glacier between the Bernina range in the south-eastern Swiss alps. This could have a significant impact on the future availability of drinking water and tourism in the area. Siss glaciologist Felix Keller and Dutch metereologist/geophysicist Hans Oerlemans developed a concept for stopping future loss of ice-mass and maybe even cause a regain of the same by covering the glacier with an artificial snow cover during the summer months. This illustration helped to present their concept to the participants of the World Water Week 2017 in Stockholm, Sweden. Further it has been featured during an interview with Felix Keller in a Swiss news report in January 2018. Website, logos and images © Andy Pfenninger 2017. All rights reserved.
