PROJECT DINOCHICKEN
EXPERIMENTAL PALEONTOLOGY: CAN EVOLUTION BE REVERSE ENGINEERED?
 HOVER OVER THE IMAGES
These illustrations were inspired by paleontologist Jack Horners research on evolutionary biology and genetics: There are inactive genes or evolutionary remnants within every breathing thing. When switched on again on a chicken for example, these cause the growth of long gone physical features, such as a long tail, arms with hands and fingers instead of wings and even a toothed snout instead of a beak. Mr. Horners attempt to reverse engineer a "Dinochicken" or "Chickenosaurus" has already been two thirds successful. The only feauture missing is the tail. So, its only a mather of time till "dinosaurs" walk the earth again and Jurassic Park becomes somewhat of a reality. My main intent with these illustrations was the visualization of the skeletal transition from a chicken into Horners Dinochicken. This project was executed as a personal project and hasn't yet been published. Website, logos and images © Andy Pfenninger 2017. All rights reserved.
